Cruise Group, October 2007

Poetry at Sea On Sunday, June 24, 2007, Lake Superior Writers and the Duluth Vista Fleet launched the first Duluth Poetry Cruise, called “Pasta for Poets.” Over 70 people sailed into the Duluth harbor and out into Lake Superior. Aspiring and seasoned poets and writers were inspired by the event which included a reading and workshops lead by Cal Benson and Sr. Naomi Tamar. To open the event, several students brought work to share. After the cruise, all participants were invited to send their work to Lake Superior Writers. On Saturday, October 13, 2007, Lake Superior Writers and the Duluth Vista Fleet held a poetry reading on one of the Vista Fleet ships.
