SUMMER READING SERIES. Read to tourists and locals in Duluth
and Superior this summer. Contact Cal Benson at calbenmn@chartermi.net
or 218-724-2724. LSW writers will conduct short readings in
hotels on the water, on the Lake Walk, at Parks and Rec events,
coffee houses, pubs, and perhaps from the stage in Leif Erickson
Park. (All we really need to pull this off is a place to plug
in our new microphone--and readers, of course.) Writers' selections
should reflect the Northern Minnesota/Wisconsin region.

Look for a follow-up to the book “Uplifting
Christ Through Autumn, Sermons for the Fall Season.”
That book was a collection of sermons preached by the late
Rev. Dr. Michael D. Wuchter when he was senior pastor of First
Lutheran Church in Duluth, MN from 1997 until his sudden death
due to heart failure August 5, 2000. This fall a sequel, “Shining
Through the Darkness, Sermons for the Winter Season”
is scheduled to be released. His widow, SHIRLEY DYER WUCHTER,
has compiled and helped to edit both books.
