Spring Class: INSIDE OUT, a four-session writing class
for those who have lost a loved one, facilitated by Deborah
Cooper, poet and chaplain. Finding words for grief and giving
voice to it can be an avenue for healing, a way of recovering
balance and deepening understanding. The act of writing
engages a process of expressing the heart's truth, a process
that can offer insight, light and resolution. Deborah
Cooper is a certified chaplain. She has served in a variety
of settings in the Twin Ports community over the last twenty
years. Her poetry has been published in numerous literary
journals and anthologies. She is the author of two chapbooks,
Redirection of the Heart (New Song Press) and
the gods of wild things (Poetry Harbor). Fee:

Find Ourselves. Lake Superior Writers presents a reading event
in conjunction with the Duluth Public Librarys Community
Reading Project on Huckleberry Finn. Several regional
writers will read selections on the theme of self discovery
and epiphany, followed by an open reading, and discussion.

ANTHONY BUKOSKI'S short story collection "Time Between
Trains" has been selected by the editors of Booklist
as an "Editor's Choice" book along with twenty-six
other adult fiction titles, including works by Toni Morrison,
Margaret Atwood, Louise Erdrich, and National Book Award winner
Shirley Hazard. According to Booklist, the selections represent
"the best books of 2003 for public libraries."
CLEO HUTTON, coauthor of "Striking Back at Stroke: A
Doctor-Patient Journal" (The Dana Press May 2003) visited
Coimbra, Portugal in February 2004 as guest lecturer at the
Departamento de Bioquimica (Department of Biochemistry) at
the University of Coimbra where she spoke on "Regaining
a Life: Medical and Social Issues of Stroke." Cleo's
